Networking with industry professionals can be challenging, especially in 2020. That is why BIG is introducing ‘Architecture Connections’. A virtual event, where students are matched with an architect or practice manager with similar interests. Students will have the opportunity to not only meet two experienced professionals from Melbourne Architecture Practices, but to also form meaningful and lasting connections.
Through two 15-minute virtual breakout rooms, we will try our best to match you and another student with a professional who has expertise in your area of interest (typology and scale of projects). Students will be able to seek specific career advice, understanding the roles and responsibilities of professionals, as well as the application process concerning their portfolios to further establish their Graduate career path.
Following this, there will be an opportunity to hear about other students and professionals’ conversation highlights in a Q+A panel discussion led by BIG and Professor Donald Bates (Chair of Architecture, MSD).
Over 40 professionals including Architects (Principals/Directors) and Practice Managers from firms ranging in various typologies and scales will be in attendance.
*Given the high demand anticipated for this event, student participants will be contacted by email if they are successful in receiving a spot in the random ballot.*
